Ok, Positives:
The art style is good. The animation for the most part is good for what it is.

Negatives:
First off, as you said in the description, the audio seemed very grainy and subdued, like it had been recorded using a camcorder or phone from being played somewhere else. Thematically, the music fit, but the pacing was off so it really made it stand out. When it comes to trailers, the music synching with the visual queues is almost as important as what's being shown on screen. The pacing seemed to be picking up as the city panned, leading to some dramatic moment and then... peaceful view of a train going through the city. The purpose of a trailer is to get people interested in your final product and the best way to do that is to punctuate several dramatic shots in conjunction with dramatic points in the audio track that runs with your trailer.

I think you've got some talent and I'll look forward to seeing your final product when it arrives.

RA1S0R responds:

Yea I converted the file using swivel, I didn't the sound would be that bad :(
Thanks for the feedback

A bit repetitive, but still great.

You definitely get points for originality. Never thought I'd see Girard Butler in a sailor suit singing that song. The song was starting to get a bit old after a while, but I know there's not much you could've done to change that other than just cut the movie shorter.

So anyways, good job. I got a great laugh out of this.

Funny, but does not merit the "Awesome" genre

Something several authors attempt to do after Egoraptor's series, yet few can actually match the style that is put forth. What makes the "Awesome" series what it is happens to be the speed and randomness that occurs throughout the movies. Meaning barely finishing laughing at one joke before the next one comes in swinging.

This was funny, don't get me wrong, it was just too slow-paced and too predictable to deserve the "Awesome" tag.

Keep at it though. I loved your "Super Fun Time Adventure" submission, so I know you have great talent!

Kyaztro responds:

I didn't realize the word "Awesome" was copyrighted by Egoraptor

LOL!

Apps, I am so glad I became a fan of your work. Ever since your Renegade Awesome series, I have loved every single submission you and your associates have put out here.

It just keeps getting better.

Jonnyethco responds:

Always nice to meet a fan. :)

Enjoyable!

You have excellent sprite potential, worthy of Skittlez n Bitz. The Shoryuken bits were beginning to get old, but you managed to keep the joke alive by refreshing different elements each time it showed up, kudos. I didn't really understand the elevator scenes, they more or less confused me and lowered my final score for this. I would've probably given it a 9 if there was some fun that came out of those scenes, but they built it up like it was going to be something huge, but then he just does his thing in the closet and walks right back on it.
Anyway, great job, keep up the good work, I'll be looking for you.

Gunstar-X responds:

Thanks a lot bro! And yeah, the elevator scene really didn't turn out well. I probably could've done something better with that...

Has significant potential

I gotta say at first I was worried this was another mistake on the front page, but after watching it, I couldn't stop from grinning and a few chuckles here and there. The voice acting was top notch and the animation was decent.

In my opinion what may have made it funnier was more interaction/insults between renegade and the dad.

Anyways, good work, talk to some comedic peers on newgrounds and get some ideas on how to improve some humor so that you can move from good to great :)

Jonnyethco responds:

I agree with you 100% dude. Watch episode 2 and 3, they get much better.

Room for improvement.

Decent animation.
Poor sound quality.
Decent Humor.

3/5
5/10

It doesn't quite capture the "Awesome" series effect, mainly because the sound took away from the humor and the humor lost its momentum. The thing that makes the original "Awesome" movies successful is the constant arrival of jokes/surprises so that you barely get the opportunity to finish laughing about one thing before something else hits the fan.

You have potential, but this one falls in the middle ground. Keep up the practice and you'll have it in no time.

Galneda responds:

Considering I thought the flash itself was a wee-bit too fast, I'm willing to accept that the "Awesome" sub-genre simply isn't my forte.

I'm alright with that, though, considering my future projects will be very different from this. :D

The humor losing it's momentum was a casualty of faulty editing and rushing to meet deadlines, one out of a laundry-list of mistakes that I made and learned from working on this flash.

I can truly appreciate the blunt honesty of this review! If I can get a review this honest, and they STILL say I got potential, I'm not hopeless :D

Thanks!

LOL

Another classic, my friend. The banter between characters is getting even better and the plotlines are becoming more recognizably well-thought out. Excellent job and I'm looking forward to the next "Siblings" episode.

Bobert-Rob responds:

Thanks, I'm glad you think so, man.

I have to agree with most other reviews for this.

There is a great potential for this series, but the main flaws are in the following:
Drawing of anatomy (i.e. shoulders and necks aren't nearly that broad in most people)
Drawing of mechanics (i.e. the screen on the bike was slanted and scribbled)
Voice Acting (Though the two male characters aside from the king were doing at least a decent job, the king and the woman sounded very emotionless and flat in my perception)

However, here are the strengths:
Enjoyable interaction between characters
Animation is improving
Camera shots and perspectives are excellent
Music choices are appropriate and have a small amount of room for improvement in regards to volume during speeches

I see in your responses you're looking to fix the first problem. The second is simply remedied by using the line tool instead of hand drawn for straight lines; because unfortunately all humans have "Essential Tremors", just occasional subconscious shakes in our limbs that are so subtle that we only notice them when we're doing something that is very delicate, like attempting to draw a straight line or circle with an unusual tool.
As far as voice acting goes, just make sure to tell your pals to give a little more emotion when recording lines.
P.S. If you're ever in need of another bass male voice actor, send me a message hehe, I'm always looking for ways to get out in the field again. :)

RiverJordan responds:

I used to line tool everything (See kingdom hearts chronicles as proof), and when i got my tablet I got this attitude that was like "I will never have to use the line tool again!" From what i've made of Chapter IV, i've already started using it a lot more haha. Thank you for the great review, even though many of the points you made have been repeated, strength comes in numbers ^_^

Balance in all things...
